Description
Product Description
This product is specifically designed for the rapid and efficient blocking of Western blot membranes. It features a protein-free formulation that prevents non-specific binding between antibodies and the blocking agent, thereby minimizing background noise. Additionally, as it is free of endogenous phosphorylated proteins and biotin, it does not interfere with the detection of phosphorylated proteins or biotin-labeled targets. Since the blocking agent does not bind non-specifically to proteins, it blocks the membrane surface without masking antibody recognition sites on the sample proteins, significantly enhancing detection sensitivity. Experimental data indicate that this blocking agent can enhance signals for many antibodies to varying degrees; however, this effect varies by antibody, and a specific signal enhancement is not guaranteed for every individual antibody.
Note: No single blocking agent is suitable for all antigen-antibody detection systems. If this reagent proves unsuitable for a specific antibody, please switch to a different type of blocking agent, such as BSA or non-fat dry milk.
Product Features
Fast and efficient:Rapid blocking in 5–10 minutes; binds only to the blotting membrane and not to proteins, thereby avoiding the masking of antibody recognition sites on sample proteins and yielding a higher signal-to-noise ratio compared to traditional blocking agents like skim milk powder and BSA;
Convenient and fast:Ready to use without dilution;
Reliable performance: Protein-free formulation; no cross-reactivity with antibodies;
Wide range of applications: Non-phosphorylated and biotin-free; particularly suitable for use with phospho-specific antibodies and biotin-based detection systems;
Antibody-sparing:Using this blocking solution allows for an optimal antibody concentration lower than the standard working concentration, thereby significantly reducing antibody consumption.
Instructions for Use
1. After the transfer is complete, place the transfer membrane into a hybridization incubation box, add 10–20 mL of protein-free rapid blocking buffer, and incubate at room temperature for approximately 10 minutes with gentle agitation on a shaker (prepare immediately before use);
Note: Blocking with this product typically takes 5–15 minutes; tests with various antibodies have shown that a 10-minute block yields significantly better results than the standard 1-hour BSA block. For antibodies that produce high background, the blocking time can be extended to 30–60 minutes. If necessary, blocking can also be performed overnight at 4°C.
2. After blocking, the membrane is ready for subsequent experiments, such as primary antibody incubation.
Precautions
1. This product can also be used for blocking in immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) experiments;
2. For your safety and health, please wear a lab coat and disposable gloves while performing operations.
3. This product is for research use only.
