Life Science Buffers
Buffer problems are the easiest ones to overlook and the hardest ones to diagnose. A Taq reaction that fails on GC-rich templates, a Western blot with inconsistent background, an agarose gel that takes 90 minutes to resolve — these aren't always reagent problems. Sometimes it's the buffer.
This collection covers two categories of lab consumables, organized by where they show up in the workflow.
PCR buffer variants for difficult templates GC buffer formulations for MagicTaq and Magic High-Fidelity polymerases, targeting amplification failures on GC-rich or secondary-structure-prone templates where standard buffer conditions stall. HF buffer formulation for Magic High-Fidelity for applications requiring maximum specificity. Mg²⁺ Plus buffer packs for Taq, HotStart Taq, and MagicFast Pfu standalone enzymes — for labs that titrate Mg²⁺ concentration independently. All are available as buffer-only SKUs that pair directly with the corresponding enzyme products.
General lab buffers — powder format PBS Powder (1× pH 7.4, 1 L yield) for cell washing, dilution, and general use. 1% TAE Agarose Powder for gel electrophoresis. Fast Running Electrophoresis Buffer for accelerated gel runs. Transfer Buffer Semi-Dry Powder for Western blot membrane transfer. Rapid Blocking Buffer (TBS-T) Powder for Western blot blocking steps.
All buffer products are supplied in powder form for ambient temperature storage and extended shelf life — no cold chain required for storage, no expiry pressure from opened liquid solutions.
